Hmmm some people having been bringing back way old school technology and its been working. Some people may just learn computers/ computer design just doesnt work out the best! Basic physics goes a long way!

Kyle,
I got word that Pat Brown was running 70 hp out of that bike that Glen Helen.. I'm not sure how true that is, but my source says its the real deal, the only thing is that it only runs for about 30 mins.. hehe..~Jay

I have been doing alot of research on the honda and yfz motors and it is possible to get 70 hp out of these motors! Which in turns they are not reliable and thats about what they run for is 30mins and the force and pressures they put out just burn up the motor. Its alot of work to get it there- Like talking Titainum buckets, rockers, rod basically everything in the motor.
Big problem like the polaris preds have is the stock buckets cant handle HP, they just disapear in the motor, the metal couldnt handle the extra Hp/TQ so most pred mods you have to get different buckets. I had the list of maintance and part replaced of Joe Byrds motor last year but cant find it anymore. Its amazing the parts they go through and most have to be custom made.
If I wanted to spend the money and time I know for sure I could get my motor to hit 70Hp but dont have the money to do it and for me it would be dumb to build a motor like that cause I couldnt afford replacing everything every ride!
cant wait to see what this years motor puts out. Wont be nothing big but should be realiable and put out good power.
Any clue what your honda puts out now after the DRG build jay?

Kyle, my motor was based off of getting RELIABLE horsepower, so in turn I did stick a lot of money and work into it but with a little more reliability knocked off, I could increase my power output substancially. In accordance with other similar builds he has done, my motor should be right around 54 to 55 hp with huge clearance and a mild cam. Did you read up on my build Kyle?
Later, Jay

hey Jay
yea your build had to keep up on that one! LOL Your always up to something so had to see what was going on.  yea most builders build right around 50-55 hp cause its still really reliable at that level. Mine will be around 50-55 also. DRG does some good work on the hondas.

Are you building your yfz motor also now or leaving that one alone jay?
