I ran the FOX Float EVOLS and Podium X on my YFZ..Tuning the EVOLS was very different, but not over complicated. They felt very plush on small stuff and soaked up big hits well. They looked killer and were a little tough to mount up. The fit and finish was not quite up to par with an Axis or Elka, they just fely "chinsy" in comparison. Overall I wasn't overly happy with them. To get the ride height I liked, they were too soft on bigger hits..They never had that plush riding on air feeling I was hoping for.
The Podium X is a dual rate, comp and rebound adjust shock..Took a while to mount up also. I wasn't happy with the ride height, it made the quad rather tall, even with the pre load backed out pretty far. It felt pretty plush and resisted bottoming well. Overall it was a "good" set up, not great, but very eye catching! Very cool looking and definitely a "must have' for the latest greatest crowd....:) Good luck! Frank.
Frank and I went out and bought the Evols at the same time and installed them the same day. I didn't have the Podium X rear but rather a Dual Adjust Axis shock with an Elka Link.
The front Evols did there job very well on my 450r and seemed to soak up everthing they were thrown at. When installing these shocks the seemed to slip on very well for me unlike Franks where we had to fight with them a little bit.
Using the peramiters givin' with the shocks in the package for my riding style and design of arm, I felt as if the setup was quite soft for me, but after some minor adjustments with compression and pumping up the main chamber, I felt as if these shocks were top notch.
Overall I'd say for my setup I was quite pleased at the overall performance of them. I sold them after about 3 rides on them and switched over to PEP Big Bottle ARC shocks and liked them a tad bit better.
