Getting close for me to buy a new sled if mine sells which it might in the next week, i have around 2500 to spend, I just want something that will be reliable and quick. ive been thinking about getting a pro x 600 because i still want to ditch bang but also i want to trail ride it a bit, and im about sick of running 110 in my 440, it's 4.50 a gallon here which is rediculous so no 440's for me. I did find an 03 rev 600 it was 3100 dollars but it looked a little beat on but still ran fine and everything. Other than that i really havent ran across any thing that eye catching. What do you guys think would be my best bet??
Hey Boss man, It is pretty inexpensive to convert a REV 440 to pump fuel...You could convert an 03 with nothing but a base gasket...I would get a 440 and rock on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you can covert the 03 w/ just a base gasket?? i thought you'd have to switch out the domes and what not...is there any type of power loss because the was my plan before i just didnt really want to screw with the engine too much
Well your always going to lose a tiny bit of power when you go down on compression. I don't think it will be noticeable especially if you do not race and just ditch and trail ride.
I bought some trail domes for my 07 and will be switching over to pump gas after winter is out. I am just going to be running on 114 for the rest of this season, just because I don't wanna dig into the motor yet.
You'll be fine just swapping out the base gasket to a #6 because all it is doing is acting as if you were to milled the stock HC heads a bit to reduce the compression, by bring up the head 3mm more..

Hey Boss, like Jay said, you won't lose much HP, and by seat of the pants, you can't really tell..Just not quite as "snappy"..If you get an 03 and convert it, buy the S4X.....It will rip harder than it did on race gas! Frank....
Well to start off, the S4-X is a clutch kit made specifically for the 440 version's for Ski-Doo. I havn't gotten a chance to ride Franks machine with his kit, but from what i've heard online and from Frank on the kit, it rips!!
As for your 02, I'm going to have to look around to see what guys are doing with the 02's to trail convert them. I had a 00 440 which is basically the same as the 02 and all I remember doing was re-jetting and I had no problems. I'm not even sure if I had the 5 gallon tank or the 10 gallon, but I didn't have any trouble with mine. Infact the guy I sold it to back in 2003 is still running it without a problem from what he told me 6 months ago when I last spoke with him.

Well check your jetting right as it is, and post it. Also look at your plugs and see how they look with your jetting as it is and let us know. I think you'll be good around a 320, but it all depends on your motor.

Boss, The 02 motor is the same as the 03..Run a #6 base gasket and rejet..Go down 2 notches on the needle, 0 on the Power jet and 320 mains..The stock tank is 11 gallons..Frank
The guy that wants to buy her is pretty much set on throwing in some Low Comp domes, mian jets and a richer needle, I mentioned it to him that he doesn't need the LC domes but oh well i guess. If he doesn't buy it I'll most likely do it.
As Frank and I have stated before, converting to Low Comp can be done two ways. Either with Low Comp domes, or by switching the base gasket to a #6. Essentially both modifications are doing the same thing, raising the dome of the combustion chamber to lessen the compression.
Have you decided what your going to buy if you sell yours?? ~Jay

If I was him I'd just switch the base gasket and save my self a few bucks but i guess it's hopefully soon to be his sled though.
The guy actually has this sick basnhee he wants to trade for it, its a 370 w/ a +4mm rod and pretty much everything else is brand new in 01, hopefully I can check it out this weekend.
The guy is driving up this afternoon to take a look at my sled and so I can see the shee, if all goes well I'll post up some pics this evenin. In the mean time I'm going to get a new computer...YES!!!
Here are the pics, the link still works for me. The shee is sick, can't wait till spring to really test her out. I think I got a pretty good deal for it.
